An intrusion detection system (IDS) inspects all inbound/outbound network traffic, identifies and blocks dangerous or suspicious pattens of traffic (IDS signatures). There are three levels of intrusion detection available;

  • Total - All IDS signatures are blocked including those not necessarily considered an attack.
  • Active - Only IDS signatures considered an attack are blocked.
  • No IDS - No IDS signatures are blocked. IDS is disabled.
