  D-Link 302G - Ethernet (Other)  
 

This guide explains how to set up the D-Link DSL-302G modem with an operating system other than Microsoft Windows using the Ethernet NIC (Network Interface Card).

This guide is applicable to Apple Macintosh 9.x/OSX, and Linux variants.

If you have a Microsoft Windows based PC it is recommended you follow either the Microsoft Windows USB or Ethernet connection guide.

1. Physically connect the Ethernet cable from the back of the DSL-302G modem to the Ethernet NIC (Network Interface Card). Ensure that the Ethernet Link light is showing solid green.

2. Please ensure that your NIC is set to DHCP. If this fails please specify the following settings on your network card: change the IP address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway settings of the Ethernet NIC within your operating system to the following,

IP Address: 10.1.1.3
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 10.1.1.1

Please check with your computer supplier if you’re unsure where to locate these settings.

3. Open a web browser application (Netscape, Internet Explorer) and type within the address bar http://10.1.1.1. A pop-up window should appear. Enter the default login clicking the ‘OK’ button once done.

Username: admin
Password: admin

4. Please select from the menu ‘Quick Configuration’. Change the ‘Refresh Rate’ to ‘No Refresh’. For each field enter the following information,

Connection Type: PPPoA VC-Mux
VPI: 8
VCI: 35
Security Protocol: CHAP
Username: username@dsl.pacific.net.au (eg. sean_smith@dsl.pacific.net.au)
Password: enter your Pacific Internet DSL password

Click the ‘Save & Reboot’ button.

The D-Link DSL-302G modem will reboot and automatically login.
