Help Fight Spam
Pacific Internet has been exclusively selected by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to participate in a world first anti-spam initiative to help catch Australian spammers.
What is Pacific Internet doing to stop spam?
Pacific Internet is dedicated to stopping spam and tackles it with a variety of initiatives. We have partnered with the ACMA to help enforce Australian anti-spam laws and were one of the first Australian ISPs to introduce free email virus and spam filters to protect our customers.
What is the Government doing to stop spam?
In April 2004, the Australian Government launched anti-spam laws which can see spammers fined up to $1.1 million per day, but to enforce these laws the ACMA needs email users to report incidents of spam.
About the ACMA
The ACMA is responsible for the enforcement of the Australian anti-spam legislation. To assist this initiative, the ACMA has developed a system where spam can be easily submitted to a central ACMA database. The ACMA uses these spam complaints to launch investigations under the anti-spam legislation.
What can you do to help?
Sick of spam? Report it! Submit your spam to the ACMA for analysis and investigation by using one of the options below. Please note that any personal information disclosed to the ACMA is subject to their Privacy Policy.
What constitutes as spam?
Spam is a generic term used to describe electronic ‘junk mail’ – unwanted messages sent to your email account. By Australian spam laws, any message sent to you that doesn’t include your consent, corporate identification and an unsubscribe option is defined as spam.
